We have been living at Pig Row for the best part of two years now alongside a silent enemy in every room.
No longer however are our unreliable archaic storage heaters with us. On Monday two very nice men in a white van arrived and carried, no dragged them kicking and screaming out of our home. Never have we been so glad to see the back of something than these bulky monsters. Fitted in the 1980s at what was thought at the time to be a state of the art, Economy 7 heating system, they ate electric at the rate of knotts without giving us a jot of adequate heat in the process.
It's truly a milestone and feels like a celebration, as it is the first step to us going truly off-grid. From October heating will be provided by a state of the art economic and green wood fired heating system.
