Dry Stone Walling

In our make do and mend attitude we have been collecting all our dug up stone to rebuild and repair the boundary wall that drops down onto the back lane. This wall hasn't been touched in decades, it had become a dumping ground with the soil level in the garden reaching the top of the remains of the crumbling wall. Andrew dug it out and found everything from glass, to fallen stone and a few tin soldiers in a rusted tin. He also found bits of agricultural machinery from a rusted plough blade to rusted pieces of iron from unknown machines. With a late spring we are desperate to get ahead again and the ground behind the wall is going to be used for a new no dig bed that will be dressed with manure, then loam, creating a hot bed. So, here is Andrew dry stone walling.
