Gardeners' World Live 2013: RHS Floral Marquee

We Pig Rowers would have loved to have filmed and spoken with every grower in the RHS Floral Marquee this year. We believe in independent nurseries and plants grown in the UK. If you go to a show this year stop and talk to some of these nurseries, ask advice, ask what they do and you will be surprised. You will find a wealth of knowledge and support that they are happy to share with you.

We spoke with Pennard Plants and Hooksgreen Herbs, and they gave us an insight into what they do and why. We stopped off and looked at stalls from Peter Beales, David Austin and Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants. We bought off all of them and we recommend you do the same. Good plants, good advice, good gardening. What we saw time after time at this year's show was Meconopsis 'China Blue' in many shin cripplers (you'll have to watch the film to discover what they are), it seemed to be the flower of the show (replacing the ladybird poppies of 2012) but chives were still in and the wonderful Verbascum 'Gainsborough' for us was the flower of the show.
